Product search that understands what shoppers mean

Shoppers don't type the way your products are listed. They type fast, skip accents, make typos or describe what they want. ThunderBar finds the right product in all of these cases.

Results as the shopper types

Products appear from the first letter, in a dropdown with categories, photos, prices and stock. Shoppers don't need to press Enter or wait for a new page, so they see straight away whether you have what they want.

Example: typing "wed" already shows wedding rings, with "Wedding rings" and "Engagement rings" categories on the left.

Words and meaning together

Classic search only finds products that contain the words typed. ThunderBar runs two searches at the same time: one that finds the exact words and one, powered by AI, that understands what the search means. The results are merged into one list, most relevant first.

Example: "wedding gift" brings wedding rings, solitaires and jewellery sets, even though no title contains the words "wedding" or "gift".

Typos and "Did you mean?"

One wrong letter should not mean "0 results". ThunderBar tolerates small typos, adjusting tolerance to the length of the word. When a word does not exist in your catalogue at all, it suggests the right one from your own store's vocabulary, and the shopper picks it with one click.

Example: "neckalce" → necklaces appear, with the suggestion "Did you mean: necklace?".

Greek, the way people actually type it

Most people type on their phone without accents or in capitals, and in whatever grammatical case comes naturally. ThunderBar ignores accents and capitals and recognises the stem of each word, so singular, plural and every case bring the same products.

Example: «ΔΑΧΤΥΛΙΔΙΑ», «δαχτυλιδι» and «δαχτυλιδιών» return the same results as «δαχτυλίδι» (ring).

Greeklish and wrong keyboard layout

Many shoppers type Greek words in Latin characters or forget their keyboard is set to English. ThunderBar converts Greeklish to Greek and detects the wrong keyboard layout, and tells the shopper what it searched for.

Example: "papoutsia" → "Showing results for «παπούτσια»".

Understands whole phrases

Shoppers can type the way they talk. ThunderBar finds the product, who it is for, the price, size and colour, and shows above the results what it understood, with ✕ to remove anything. On Pro plans and above, free-form sentences are also interpreted with AI.

Example: "I need shoes as a gift for my wife, size 38, under 80 euros" → Understood: Women · up to €80 · Size 38 · Gift.

Synonyms you define

Every industry has its own words. From your dashboard you define groups of words that mean the same thing, and search treats them as one.

Example: "trainers, sneakers, sports shoes" or "pendant, charm".

Product codes and barcodes

Trade customers and your support team often search by code. ThunderBar finds products by SKU, model, EAN, UPC, JAN, ISBN and MPN, and puts that exact product first.

Highlighting in results

The word the shopper typed is highlighted in every product title, even if it was typed without accents. It is immediately clear why each result appeared.

Before the shopper types

When search opens, shoppers see their recent searches and your store's popular ones. Popular searches come automatically from your analytics or you set them yourself, together with a campaign banner and featured products.

Voice search

On mobile many people prefer to speak. With the microphone button shoppers say what they want and results appear instantly. The button only shows in browsers that support it.

Greek and English

If your store also has an English version, visitors see titles, categories and the search texts in the language they have chosen.
